ELAPINO

We have already seen In John 7:37, where Jesus stood and proclaimed that “If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink. The next verse in verse 38, he showed us what exactly will happen as a result of coming to drink.

Theme – Come, Drink

He said those who believe in me, as the scriptures have said, out of their bellies shall flow out rivers of living waters. This particular scripture always excites me every time I see it.

You’d easily understand my excitement if you proceed again to1 the very next verse in verse 39 where the Bible tells us what Jesus meant in verse 38. Bible says, by rivers of living waters, Jesus was actually speaking of the Holy spirit that will be received by those who believe in Him. Now, this is huge, and it’s getting deeper.

Please, let’s wait a moment and go over this flow again from verse 38. These verses are loaded and I do not want us to miss any of the blessings they offer.

So, if you don’t mind, let’s go back to verse 37.

  1. Why did the Lord Jesus wait till the last day, the day that marks the end of a the feast, before making this proclamation? It’s because there’s always something about the last day of a programme, fasting, prayer, etc Our God always reserves the best for the last. Even the Bible says that the glory of this later house shall be greater than the former – Hag 2:9

Joshua’s people also shouted on the last day, in Joshua 6:16

THERE’S ALWAYS AN UNCTION FOR THE LAST DAY

The last day of an event is a usually. The last day, the grande Finale. One would think that’s only found in the events of men. The best lessons are reserved for the last day. If there are awards, they are given on the last day. Also, the last day has the greatest attendance.

Our Lord Jesus also shows us here that there’s always more unction on the last day. When we organize church programmes, crusades, outreaches, conventions, congressed, etc, God’s move is usually greatest on the last day of the event.

So, there’s a mystery surrounding the last day. It may sound purely logical, but sometimes when ma out attend our church conventions and you see the miracles God himself performs on the last day, compared with other days, then you’d simply understand that there’s something about the last day of something.

But then

But let’s wait a minute. As I write this, I paused and paid attention to what he’s showing me concerning the last day. You see, it isn’t really that before God, some days are quite special. Afterall, Bible says in Lamentations 3:23 that The Lord’s mercies are new every morning. This gives us equal opportunities each day of our lives. Each day is loaded with equal benefits.

But before God, what determines how much of his benefits we can access on each day or at any time or with any programme or project, really, is our faith and our expectations. So then, on such last days of the feast, the people’s faith and expectation level is usually the highest, since the event has reached a climax. Everyone is determined and expecting God’s manifestation on such last days. Hence, an aggregation of individuals unity of faith and expectations, becomes a huge force that pulls down God’s voice and manifestation, just as we had it with the Apostles in Acts 2:1-2,

Indeed, there’s something about the last day. Please check that scripture very closely.

The Apostles received that very first outpour of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. The Pentecost is the 50th day after the day Christ resurrected. He walked with them for 40 days and then He ascended to heaven. But before he ascended, He told them not to launch out yet, He told them in Acts 1:4 to wait in Jerusalem until they have received the promise of the father.

And indeed they waited in the upper room. The day of Pentecost was just around the corner, just 10 days after his ascension. On this day, there’s a larger gathering of witnessed outside of their upper room. On this day, they were all already in the unity of faith. Bible says they were all with one accord and you see, they were all in one place. That day is not a coincidence, it was the day of Pentecost, the last day of that feast. And then history was made. The Holy Ghost came, onΒ  The day Pentecost! Hallelujah. Brethren, there’s a mystery about the last day of whatever spiritual schedule we have planned out to seek Gods face.

Little wonder the Lord Jesus also waited till the last day of the feast before making that proclamation in John 7:37. Bible calls the last day, the great day!

“In the last day, the great day of the feast of tabernacles (John 7:2), a feast that celebrates the divine provision of food and water for Gods people as they journeyed through the wilderness, Jesus stood, and cried, saying, if any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.” And yes, they came to drink. In verse 38, Bible says Jesus was referring to that Holy Ghost outpour that would later happen in Acts 2:1. Talking about the Holy Spirit now.

And guess what, in Acts 2:1, on that day of Pentecost, the climax of a 10 day wait in the upper room, the disciples answered that call that Jesus had made in John 7:37. They congregated with the strongest accord and unity of purpose yet known in human history and birthed the church, through that revival that happened that day with the outpour of the Holy Ghost! Hallelujah.

If you decide in your heart that you will pray for 1 hour. God comes down fellowship with you, but waits particularly in the last few minutes, to the end, to see if you will stay that course through. If you cannot stay it through just acknowledge to him the reason why, because God always enjoys fellowshipping with men.

If you plan a 3 day retreat for your self, you family, or your church, God fellowships with you all through, but reserves the best manifestations for those who would stay connected till the last day. That’s because the unity of faith is strongest on that last day, and faith is that channel through which Man access God’s nature. The stronger and more purposeful our faith is, the bigger the miracles we can receive from Him.

WE ARE IN THE LAST DAYS

Yes, we’re in the last days. Every day in this dispensation moves us closer to the end. So all days have the unction of the last days, this is the reason for For God’s strange acts at this time. We must always be in the spirit and be sensitive for his move in our lives and in our atmosphere at every hour and in fact every moment of our lives.

And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

That’s exactly what is happening now, the Lord is making a clear distinction between his own people and the world. He’s ready to make you a reference point and example for the world around you to follow. And He has started already, because you listened to this. Hallelujah. Lord Jesus we now understand your mystery of the last day and last days and we move closer in devotion with you in Jesus Name.

Now, that’s a prayer for those who already are connected to him. If you don’t yet have Jesus in Your life or you aren’t sure you still stand in Him, then please take this opportunity. Because also in the last days, judgement awaits all who will be caught without his spirit. Jesus Loves you and he wants to make a difference in your life. Heaven awaits his children and you should be a part of that too.

Say Lord Jesus, I understand your mystery of the Last days and I’m ready to receive the blessings you have for me. I repent of my sins and i forsake them. I in turn accept your mercy and forgiveness and I receive you as my Lord and saviour. My name is written in the book of life. Thanks for saving me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
